Welcome to PK Optometry Tuition and thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

My name is Dr Parminder Chohan and I am an optometrist with over 15 years experience working within Primary Care. I have worked in various practices during my career. 

I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2017 and have extensive experience working within the research and education sector in the optometry field, as well as the public sector, advising about research to other organisations within the UK.

I have always maintained my clinical skills within Optometry as I thoroughly enjoy working within the community to support patients and I have undertaken qualifications allowing me to provide additional services to patients. 

I was a Clinical Demonstrator at Aston University where I supervised final year optometry students within their primary care and contact lens clinics. I assessed a variety of skills and evaluated the students clinical decision making skills and was able to provide thorough and comprehensive feedback to support the students in their clinics. 

I have a qualification for teaching in higher education (Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) which has allowed me to develop my understanding of teaching styles which I can incorporate into my teaching. I have extensive experience teaching and assessing optometry students at various stages from the university course to pre-registration courses. 

During my career, I held positions with Local Optometric Committees, as well as having the privilege to be elected to represent optometrists as a Council Member with the College of Optometrists. During this role, I also sat on various committees involved in the strategic direction for the profession. These roles have allowed me to gain unique skills which I have utilised at various stages during my career.

PK Optometry Tuition has been created as I believe all students have the ability to excel and `I have the skills and experience to ensure students succeed.
